Holiday Decorating Contest

 BSW 2023 HOLIDAY DECORATIONS CONTEST 

This year, the residents of Braun Station West will select the winners of our holiday decorating contest!  Here are the six categories BSW residents can compete in for this year’s competition:

1. The Griswold Award: Think Chevy Chase in Christmas Vacation–there’s no such thing as too many lights!!

2. Best Character Use: Best use of holiday characters.

3. Best Door: Showcase your creativity with design, color and materials on and around your front door.

4. North Pole Award: Best street effort.  Anybody up to challenging the legendary effort of the residents of Bigbury?

5. Favorite Theme: Best display that has an organized appearance or theme.

6. Best Use of Animation: Use of lights and music that will bring your Winter Wonderland to life.  

Important Deadlines & Dates (all times are Central Standard Time):

• Monday, December 11, 5 p.m. Nominations due  

• Wed., December 13, 5 p.m.      Photos must be submitted by nominees

• Friday, December 15, 12 p.m.  Online voting begins for all BSW residents

• Thursday, December 21, 12 p.m.  Online voting ends

• Thursday, December 21, 6 p.m. Winners will be announced (if all goes well)

Nominees must submit one to three photos of their display for each category except Best Door, for which we will accept one photo. Photos of the North Pole award will be a challenge, so please contact the HOA Manager if support is needed from the Neighbor Engagement Committee.

By sending us your photo(s), nominees are consenting to the following:

• Publication of your name and address and the photo(s) you submit on the BSW website and newsletter. If you prefer that any of this information be withheld, please advise when you submit your photo(s),

• Allowing the Neighbor Engagement Committee to use your email address to communicate with you, and

• Allowing the HOA Manager to add your email address to the BSW resident database for official BSW HOA business only.

Rules for Nominees:

• Residents can nominate their own or their neighbors’ display.

• One address can compete in up to two (2) categories.

• Only one winner per address.

• Those who participate in this contest agree to abide by the official rules and regulations.

Rules for Voting:

• Only one vote is allowed per BSW address. 

• A link to the ballot will be added to the BSW webpage when voting opens. 

Winner Information: 

• The address receiving the most votes in each category will be declared the winner.

• In the event of a tie for any category, an unbiased person will be asked to break the tie. 

• Winners will be notified by email late Thursday afternoon, December 21st, bar any complications.

• The winners will receive bragging rights with a News Blast Announcement of the winners and a posting on the BSW website and in the next newsletter.

• All decisions will be final.

Feedback may be submitted to the HOA manager in writing at manager@braunstationwest.com to help improve this process in future competitions.
